Some good friends and I are hosting a conference for church staff this September. We’ll have keynote speakers (the outstanding Larry Osborne and Greg Surratt) and we’ll offer workshop tracks as well. We want to offer encouragement and tactical tools to folks in the ministry trenches by ministry veterans who are still in the trenches – some nationally known, some local who are outstanding. The workshop format is designed for plenty of dialogue and discussion, hosted by ministry veterans who are still in the trenches today.
I often attend a conference to get fresh ideas and a fresh perspective, but often times, the material presented is too untactical (a new word?) or the speaker, while excellent, lives in a context too distant from my own, or worse yet, is mostly promoting his new book 🙂
So, if you were to attend a two day conference to receive tactical ideas, and to generally get “unstuck” or to receive insight in a ministry area, what area would that be? Where do you feel stuck/have felt stuck in ministry? I’d love to hear your thoughts as we shape the workshops offered.
